About us
"Kartagener Syndrom und Primäre Ciliäre Dyskinesie e.V."
is a 1997 formed German organization for people with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia and Kartagener´s Syndrome, and their families. We are in contact to KS/PCD-patients all over the world. (definitions).
As this disease is still relatively unknown to many doctors and as its symptoms are similar to those of other respiratory diseases (chronic bronchitis, asthma, cystic fibrosis) an incorrect diagnosis is often made.
However, in order that the most appropriate therapies be obtained for its treatment (medications and physiotherapy), it is crucial that this disease be correctly diagnosed (German text - Translation yet to come) as early as possible.
